Melrose Pharmacy is providing the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines to individuals 18 years and older.

We are currently scheduling third dose and booster dose appointments for eligiblae patients. Please see requirements below.

THIRD/BOOSTER DOSE COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION

Who is eligible & recommended to receive a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine?


Moderately to severely immunocompromised patients are now recommended to receive a third dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 28 days after the completion of their initial mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series. Please note, this is not a booster and only applies to immunocompromised patients. Melrose Pharmacy only provides the Moderna. To receive a third dose from Melrose Pharmacy, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be moderately to severely immunocompromised including:
    • Receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
    • Received an organ transplant and am taking medicine to suppress the immune system
    • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or am taking medicine to suppress the immune system
    • Have moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
    • Have advanced or untreated HIV infection
    • Have active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress my immune response




Who is eligible & recommended to receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine?


A booster dose is recommended at least 6 months after the date of the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 months if you received Janssen first dose. You may receive Moderna booster dose no matter what brand you received for the first and second dose. Eligible recipients of the booster dose include:

  • Adults aged 65 or older
  • Adults 50 to 64 with an underlying medical condition
  • Adults 18 to 49 with an underlying medical condition, and feel the need for an additional dose based off individual benefits and risks
  • Adults 18 to 64 at an increased risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or instituional settings
  • Adults 18 to 64 who received Janssen (J&J) for their first dose
